Rani Huszar has performed in over 23 countries in the last 15 years, she specializes in contortion, physical theatre, comedy, dance and sideshow creating dynamic, unique solo, duo and ensemble shows that primarily involve a whole lot of comical charm. Rani began her professional career as an artist at 17 years of age touring the Australian University and Festival circuit with an artist called “Saint Mathew” they co- created a variety/sideshow act that involved magical stage illusions and sideshow stunts. In 1995 Rani created and self produced her own show called ‘The Miss Geni Show’ a comical character extending her skill set and using belly dance, audience participation, comedy, juggling and tight-rope walking. The Miss Geni Show toured extensively for 8 years throughout Australia and had continued success in New Guinea, New Zealand Canada, America, Singapore, Egypt, China, U.K, & Europe.
During this time, Rani also co-created and performed with various companies and performers, such as Bizircus (WA Circus Company), Zero Gravity Circus (Toronto, Canada) At 28 Rani created a new character called Ruby Rubberlegs a contortionist who presents routines such as squeezing herself through a mirror, bending and folding her entire body into a small see through box that she calls her New York apartment. Since creating this character Rani has created a number of hilarious routines including a tango dance with a life size puppet called Romeo, a calypso spinning plate act and a very funny parody of burlesque in which she strips down to her skeleton. She has also enjoyed and excelled at MCing a number of events and variety shows.
For over 15 years Rani Huszar collaborated with Daniel Oldaker, creating 3 major shows "The Great Gondos", "Acts of Absurdity" & "Art Versus Entertainment" which they presented at Festivals in Europe, America, Asia, Fiji, New Caledonia and Australia. Their shows were a blend of absurd physical comedy and circus delivered with a sense of in the moment mayhem and absolute loveable charm. Rani continues to develop and showcase truly original, captivating and funny theatre and variety.
